There are many patient transfer flats available on the market today. None of them qualify as a spinal immobilization device. Unfortunately, the patient who typically requires this device is found on the ground from a fall and requires spinal immobilization. The patented technology of the Thomas Transfer Flat is designed to accommodate most backboards and qualifies as a spinal immobilization device.  Your backboard can simply be attached to the center of the Thomas Transfer Flat with access to pins and hand holds for strapping. The ten outside ergonomic handles allow for even distribution of carrying.  The Thomas Transfer Flat is designed to roll up and be self contained. Simply unbuckle, unroll, slide in the backboard* and your ready to transport. The heavy-duty vinyl construction is easily cleaned with soap and water - no Velcro. Designed by EMTs, Paramedics and Physicians, the Thomas Transfer Flat is ready for your real needs in the field.
